Dirt Crits Race 2 - 15th October 2013

The second event of the Dirt Crits Spring/Summer series was held at Riflebutts Reserve MTB Park on Tuesday 15th October.

The school presentations seem to be having a positive effect on Junior entries, as they doubled to twenty this week! More presentations will be held during the week, so fingers crossed, there should be some more smiling faces lining up at the start line next week. All of the children had a great time! If interested, race registration is at 5:15pm for a 5:30pm start.

Fiona Greenway streamlined the starting sheet for the Senior event, so this was the first opportunity to try it out. It worked well so we’ll continue to use it, and tweak it, for future races- Thanks Fiona. Twenty-one riders started the event, a great mix of junior and senior riders.

Results- 1st Toby H in a time of 25:42 over 3 laps, 2nd Nick H in a time of 28:44 over 3 laps and 3rd Andrew W in a time of 34:51 over 4 laps. All of the place getters received prizes, including a $30 gift voucher to Toby from one of the club’s sponsors, Alpine Butchery.

Next Tuesday the race will be held on course 3.

Thanks to Tom for marking the three different race courses on the Riflebutts map, which will be put on display at each race, and also permanently displayed on the board under the shelter.
